About the artist
Victoria J. Burns
Victoria's work lives in two worlds: the quiet focus of black-and-white zentangle ink, and the bright, joyful energy of pattern-filled color.
Each piece starts the same way — with a single line. From there it grows, one deliberate stroke at a time, into feathers and peacocks, seashells and reef fish, palms, pineapples and blooms. The process is meditative; the results are anything but quiet.
Her ink drawings reward a closer look, revealing hundreds of tiny patterns that come together as one image. Her acrylic and paint-pen canvases carry that same patterning into bold coastal color — work that makes a room feel happy.
Victoria's pieces hang in private collections, and she welcomes commissions for one-of-a-kind work made for a particular person, place or space.
